Some broadband operators have cut prices by half and others have offered big upgrades in entry-level speeds.

Cable connections have also dropped in price, but not as fast, the report says. Currently a cable connection is on average $4.27 per month more expensive than DSL.

Perhaps more worrying for cable companies though is the price of a fiber-to-the-home subscription in Japan. Some operators offer 100Mbps for $25.90 per month, which is lower than the worldwide average for broadband over cable modem, according to Point Topic.
I wish Japan is near me so I could get that $25.90 per month 100Mbps connection. I'm wondering how much would be the cost of a fiber-to-home subscription.
