Question changed router, dynamic IP a little too, well, "dynamic"

I had a router that was 3 yrs old, the Linksys WRT54G router. It finally went toast on me, so I bought a brand new NetGear Wireless-N Gigabit router. I had to put my Speed Stream 5100 modem in bridge mode again, so that I could use my router so that it could properly re-route new dynamic IPs.

That's working and all but, I'm getting a new IP every 15-25 mins vs. when I had my linksys, it would hold a steady IP for about 1-3 days.

So my question is, do dynamic IPs typically change this fast? Was the old linksys router lagging in my favor?
