Default internet disconnected

first time poster dont know much about computers or networking.. so im here to find out if anyone can help me out with the problem ive been having since i signed up with att sbc a month ago... my internet connection always seems to disconnect at all times no matter what time of day it is... i can be online for awhile and suddenly i get the page not found then i have to press the reset button on my router and wait alittle in order to get the internet up and running. Its frustrating since im a gamer and be playing xbox live and having to lose and quit games because of my internet disconnecting... also i wonder if it has anything to do that my last internet provider was cox and i had my router connected with that ? well any help and suggestions will help.

Default Had Same Trouble

I dealt with it for a couple weeks when a computer saavy friend said the modem needed replacing. Circuit City carried it and tonight the DSL is back to normal. Maybe this will help with your problem.

Glitchy power can cause this problem also. A good surge supressor is always a really good idea for all electronics.
