IS THIS A BROKEN PHONE LINE??? Please Help!

I have a problem. I have the 2wire 1701hg modem. Its supposed to get 3mb/s but i get about 600kb/s. I tried plugging the modem into another phone jack and go figure, it goes full speed. Problem is, my comp is in my room which has only one phone jack. Is my phone jack broken??? It slows my download speeds from 300kb/s normal to 50kb/s. I'm stumped.

This might be caused by some unstable phone lines or you might be receiving weak signals from the DSL routers. Try calling tech support so they can run a line test and hopefully they can rip and rebuild your connection to the routers.
