Answering Machine Interference

DSL Filter: Excelsus Z-Blocker Z-D250TJ

Whenever the phone rings and the answering machine picks up, I lose my internet connection. As soon as the answering machine is done, the connection will re-establish itself. The machine is plugged into the 'Phone' option of the filter. I've searched around and can't find anyone else experiencing this specific problem.

Besides "Get a new answering machine", what are some possible reasons this is happening and/or possible solutions to stop this from happening? Thank you.
