When I got cable internet, I still kept AOL. I got the BYOA plan for $7 a month, but I can still dialup for an hourly charge. I like having a dialup option for those times when the cable is down.

I don't even have a modem in my computer.
No broadband means no internet.

Currently I don't, but there is a local place with cheap dial-up

If I ever need to go on dial up for anything, there are about a dozen stores within five minutes that I can run to to get a AOL cd, even though I'd rather die than use AOHELL.

AOL really isn't all that bad. I remember when that's the only internet connection I had. Thankfully, those days are over. It's still nice to have it if my broadband connection is down. I'll probably always have at least one computer in my house with a dial up modem. Although not all of my computers have one.

I've used AOL to download drivers for my network card so I could connect to my broadband, and its definitely not as bad as most people make it out to be.
Its no fun in the park though. |

When I had my computer build I made sure there was a dialup modem installed just for thie reason. Thankfully (knock wood) I've not had any problems with the cable modem and ISP.

Yep, it comes free with the DSL service. Do I use it? Hell no.

Nope. No cable is no internet.
Luckily I have my Nintendo DS and PSP to keep me company once it actually happens |

I'm way too dependant on internet to just do without it. I have jobs online that I have to get done, so it's a necessity for me. AOL has been a life saver for me a few times.
