Default How long did it take to install?

How long did it take to install your cable internet for the first time? I have Insight BB (it is a local Cable Company). At first, the disk didn't work and the modem didn't work, so we had to trouble shoot. So after about an hour of talking with someone overseas, we got it done. It was well worth the effort .

The very first time we got cable internet, I guess there was quite a list of people waiting to get it. We had to wait a couple of weeks to even get an appointment set up. But once they finally got there, it didn't take them very long to get it set up and running for us. At the time, we had comcast cable. Then when we switched over to Wide Open West, it didn't really take any time at all to switch it. And, when we moved to a different state, roadrunner (time warner) was already installed here.

After having dial-up for about 10 or so years of my life, we finally tried to get cable.

Too bad we lived in a horrible neighbourhood, and our "lines were too old to put the cable internet on," so we had to wait until they changed them to get it. So we were put on a list.

The bottom of the list . Then my brother got a job at that cable company, and put our street at the top of the list (bwa ha ha)

Anyways, it took about 10 minutes to set up (since my brother could troubleshoot it himself), but our first modem was one-way (cable download, dial up upload).

Now, we have two way and it's sweet.

Like The Nix Hex I used dial up for many years.
I finally got so very tired of the long download times. So, I opted for Road Runner High Speed Internet.
It took the tach all of about 15 minutes to set everything up for me.
That was 5 years ago. I've been happy with the service from the start.

Cable internet took as long as it took to plug it in and run the disk. Add a few more minutes for my brother to set up the router, and we're good to go.

Now, I could probably do it in under 5, provided nothing goes wrong.
