Your speed is 2823 kbps.
a good result or am I lacking?

Well, a 2823 kbs is 2.8 mb, so its a fairly good connection. Its about as good as you'll get on cable.

If you really want speed, Verizon's fios offers 15 mb/s downstream.

What cable and what area? Seems odd for your cable to be slower than that,.

My connection speed seems fast to me, but the results of that test don't seem accurate:
Your connection loaded 330,966 bytes in 1.672 seconds.
Your speed is 1584 kbps.

Speed Test Results

Your connection loaded 330,966 bytes in 1.546 seconds.

Your speed is 1713 kbps.

I guess that's not too bad. I wonder how fast that image would load on dial-up? Hope I never have to find out.

We should have had Cptn. Picard do it before he upgraded to cable!

It would just ended somewhere below 56,000, depending on how much he has cached.
