So here's the situation, my brother and I have pretty much the same PC (albeit i'm AMD, and he's Intel).
We can download from the same site, but he'll download about 10 times faster.... Does he have me capped through the router or anything like that, or are there settings on my PC so I can tweek the speed up. Much help appreciated.

Have you ran a search for spyware/adware/virus/etc to make sure you have none? Do you use the same browser? Static or DHCP?
Some routers (i know linksys does) have the ability to run parental control. If you access to the router, see if there is any pc enabled, or if there are any ports open just to his computer. |

We both use FF, and I don't have any spyware (this is a fresh format of Windows)
I believe we use DHCP, if I statically set everything would it speed up? I'll have to check the parental controls, as well I don't think we have them (we hacked the firmware on the router. rather, my brohters did.) |

Well, the hacked firmware could have something to do with it. I take he's running the linksys linux thing?
Static won't do anything if you're both running DHCP. Ask your bro if he has done any tweaks to his OS or browser. |
