Default Remember the Blaster Worm?

Anyone remember that one virus that would restart your PC randomly? THat wasn't the main symtpom of the virus, it just DoSed windowsupdate.com

info here:
http://www.symantec.com/security_res...081113-0229-99

Well, at the time every computer in the house was running XP, except me. I was running Windows 98 SE, so I was unaffected.

So I was enlisted to download the removal tool.

Except there was one problem.

It had been raining pretty much 24 hours a day for the whole week, and water got into the tap on our cable. Effectively crippling our internet service to speeds slower than dialup.

I was downloading the patch (IIRC ~15 meg) at 550 BYTES PER SECOND.

Needless to say, that was a very very bad time for computers in my house...
