Default Who Actually has the fastest cable?

I hadnt seen one of these post's yet, so I figured Ide make one.

Go to the speed test at the top of the page, lets see who has the fastet cable!

Quote:
Your connection loaded 238,820 bytes in 1.078 seconds.

Your speed is 1772 kbps.
So roughly the right area.

I am on a 2 mbps connection.I took the test and it says my connection speed is close to 500 kbps and the page took around 3 seconds to load.I took the test more than once .I felt that the page loaded pretty fast .Maybe I should try taking the test again at other hours.Probably that makes a difference, depending on the load on the server ,though I am only guessing.

I dont think the load of the server will be affecting it to much, as that test is on broadbandinfo.com, which is never slow for me, and im sure for others aswell.

The first time I checked the speed,I overlooked something.I had 4 tabs open in the same window.Perhaps that affected the connection speed. When I took the speed test later , it showed a speed around 1 MB and the page loaded in approximately 2 secs. It's still slower than the expected speed , but atleast better than th efirst time.

Actually, I think the site loads a bit slow, I've already timed out twice while connecting. if you want accurate results try speedtest.net, here are my results:

Your speed is 1825 kbps.
Ehh, it looked to be faster than Ryan's at least...if only slightly. Never even noticed the speedtest here, until I read this thread btw.

I tried the test at speedtest.net. It says my download speed is 1479 kbps and upload speed is 147 kbps. This is closer to the result I'd expect from my connection. If it's indeed close to or below 1 mbps, I'd need to talk to my ISP because then I would rather go for their 1 mbps connection and save myself $30 per month.
