Default Charter fun!

May 31st, 2007

Okay, so Charter yet again is attempted to screw their customers out of $ again! Husband on the phone now (I really wish I could record this for you girls) and about to rip someone a new hole, we get our bill, which should be about 60-80USD if that. And we have a bill now, for them coming out to fix our cable modem, when they said it was FREE b/c it was THEIR FAULT (our net kept pinging out and it was a faulty router/modem)……….while the guy was here he also took it upon himself to run a network cable (which being two of the biggest geeks around - we already had one that worked FINE)……….so now we are being charged an hourly install rate that we didn't even know he did til we looked under our house (the day it happened I was home, walked outside and told him thats not the issue, husband had came home and said the same thing).

He has Charter fiber (business line) ran to his work thats about 2k a month, he is friends with a local top rep. here local and we still have no idea why Charter Residental is such a piece of crap to their customers.

Coax was fine (called the home line), signals were fine, it was the modem, not the damn cable.

Stupid Charter..........We call up, talk to we think the billing dept. who isn't billing and he transfers us to billing dept. which we are on with now. He has given his name, address, last 4 of the SSN………..freakin Charter.

This ending up taking almost 2 hours to explain why we refuse to pay for something that was not needed. He only came to swap the modem out, nothing else. Finally it cleared up, after a good 2 hours and maybe 6 rep's later.

Actually,I have seen worse, lol. The engineers at my previous connection chose to be blissfully unaware of the issues facing their customers for weeks.I would have problems with my internet throughout the night , call the customersupport to docket my complaint , be contacted during the morning and the connection would work like a dream. Two hours later, it'd start pinging out and I would have to file another complaint during the evening only to be contacted again by them the next day morning.Whenever I'd be speaking to them on phone, they'd ask me to check the adsl light and try pinging. It always worked ; and then a few hours later ,I felt like breaking my head again, lol. After a month of misery and self pitty I decided to change my connection and I am so happy that I did.

Charter tries to do all that crap as well, but we are fairly determined people. And we need to have our internet - I have no idea what would happen if we didn't have it. I get bored easy to start off with, no net?!?!
