Default Comcast has to be the best service available

I've moved around a lot, and have gone though so many different cable services. I've had comcast about a year now and have never had a single problem with them. No outages at all. Not one!!! It's been an amazing year. Hopefully I won't decide to move again and I'll be able to hold on to this service for awhile. Maybe I've just been moving around in search of the perfect cable provider and now that I've found it I can finally settle down.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone quite that excited about a cable service. But I'm glad it makes you happy. My cousin has comcast, she's okay with it, but she's had some outage problems. I'm willing to bet the word "perfect" hasn't come to mind in her description of them.

Default For me, not so much...

I just switched from Comcast, and I feel much better having done so. They were a nightmare from the start.

When we first had them do the install, the guy who showed up was many hours late and LAZY. He told me (and I stupidly believed him) that he was not "authorized" to relocate the position of the cable in the living room. This was not such a big deal, so I just let it slide.

He said he checked the connectivity before leaving and that it was fine. I know, I know, I should have checked it myself, but hey, he was the professional installer, after all. Later that evening, I went to check my work e-mail and lo and behold, it was NOT working. I called Comcast and after about an hour on the phone with a rep trying to troubleshoot the problem, they said that the next time someone could look at it would be a week later.

This was more than a little irritating since I needed to be able to connect to the internet for work related purposes. I tried to take it in stride, and we planned a quick, five day visit to the in-laws since I was having to take unplanned time off of work anyway.

I came back and the cable was re-installed...but I was charged for the time it took to fix the problem, as well as a re-connect fee (since he had to run a new line to the house), which was later waived as a "courtesy". Gee, thanks, Comcast!

Our connection was awful and constantly reset itself. Since a good bit of my work involves sending large files to the main office via e-mail, this glitch meant that the documents had to be re-sent. A lot of the time I would have to attempt it two to three times before it would go through. That does not seem so bad, but when you consider the fact that I had to send an average of 75 files a day, it really started to add up.

Then there were billing issues. Too many to list, including being billed repeatedly for services that I did not have (or sign up for). I am glad someone had a positive comcast experience. I sure didn't.

In my house, if something starts to go on the fritz, we use the word Comcastic as a verb, i.e.; "Honey, the fridge is going comcastic again!"

I would never, ever recommend Comcast to anyone.

Comcast has been decent for me. There the only high-speed internet Ive ever had so I dont have much to compare it to. When the service people come they are nice and do a good job but the fact that they have been to my house 3 or 4 time this year is not good

Comcast is good. My parents are quite satisfied with the service they've had from Comcast. I don't know if I'd call it "the best", but it's definitely in the top 3.

Comcast's the only Cable ISP I have much experience with. On a personal level, I don't like the company because they keep trying to push out all competition. However, the Cable service has worked fairly well, so I can't complain too much.

Comcastic for most, Craptastic for some? I suppose there will always be service oversights with any large company now and again.
