Default Comcast VOIP

I'm really tired of them constantly offering me this service. I have Vonage. I LIKE Vonage. Vonage is CHEAPER and has more bells and whistles. And has already proven themselves the more customer oriented business. You know comcast would never wave a months fee cause you were a good customer! lol

My mother got their voip where she is because they promised her it would get some "priority". So when she lost her net, she'd still have phone. She really didn't like after a short time. Said it was really bad service.

Does anyone else have any experience with their voip?

Never tried VOIP, but they keep trying to sell everyone that "Comcast Triple Play Package" which is Cable TV, Cable internet, and phone for like $99 introduction rate. Either way, I wouldn't bother with it. Same goes for the VOIP.

Vonage uses what they call "best effort" Voip. This means that if the "traffic" on the internet is bad then they will do the best they can to help you keep your phone. The bad thing is that thier voip is useing the "left overs" of the internet. In other words, if you have a traffic jam then you will be stuck in the traffic jam. The new thing with CDV (comcast digital voice) is that you travel over a seperate secure network for your Voip services. And sence it is our chsi (comcast high speed internet) then we can mandate what has priority on the net. ex: traffic jam on the chsi, well lets get your CDV to take these back roads to still work. If a download and phone call are going through at the same time, the call takes priority... always. Vonage cant promise you anything b/c they are not in control of the internet it travels over so anything they proimse to you is a flat lie and will be untill they have thier own internet they travel over to do as they wish with.
