I have an advanced network manager and it's telling me that I am still behind a firewall. I have turned off the only firewall I have, and I'm still getting a "Firewall enabled" message.
I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of an ISP firewall that is always up no matter what. It is hindering some FTP transactions I am trying to complete, and I would like it disabled if possible. |

I believe some do, or at least, have heard of it from people. I suggest calling up your provider and asking them if you are behind a firewall. They may be able to disable it.

Is it possible that you have switched off the firewall installed on your pc ,but the 'windows firewall' is still running ? If that's so ,you could still be getting the firewall enabled message.I have never liked the windows firewall.I hardly have any control over it.

Sometimes, routers also have firewalls! Be sure to check that out too.

Just like thebowl said, the router that you might be using has a firewall.
I have experienced this once and I tried turning all my security off in order to know what is the one blocking. I found out that it was my Anti-Virus. Some anti-virus programs automatically have a "hidden firewall" in them to block malicious sites. |
