I don't know if it matters or not, but I live in a really old house (belonged to my grandparents) and it still has the oldstyle rotary phone. Would anyone know if DSL would work with that?

I don't know. For a while, there was a choice between pulse and tone dialing. If by chance you have pulse dialing (if such a thing still exists), I imagine that would be problematic. Maybe you could call the local DSL company and ask. I know around here, some of the older neighborhoods don't seem to have access to DSL yet, while slightly newer neighborhoods a few blocks away do.

Does it use anything other than a standard phone line? Cause its just a matter of using a different frequency.

The phone line it the same so DSL should work. Rotery or pluse are simply the type of phone being used.

You'd probably want to get the lines redone anyways, if they had rotaries.

I'm sure I'll have to get these phones changed out eventually, but they don't even unplug from the wall so I imagine they're going to have to totally redo them.

Being the geek I am - I would try it, just to see what happened.
Being a home owner of a 30 year old house - I would redo all wiring just to be on the safe side.

The kind of phones that you are using doesn't affect the DSL connection. And if you want to have a DSL connection, the telephone company will advice what is the best thing to do. And most telephone companies will make you buy their own phone for additional profit.
