Default DHCP vs Static

Who were uses DHCP, and who were uses static, and why?

Personally, I use static cause it gives me more control over my network and faster transfer speeds over the network.

I had to statically set mine so DSL would work (or so they said)

I've had no problems with it, other than when I have a LAN Party, another person hasi theirs statically set to my IP as well...so... pain in the arse there. (we're a lazy bunch)
