We used to edit my friend's PC's host file so any time he tried to go to any of his book marks they led to... uh... inappropriate sites.

We used to do similiar things at school, before they wised up and started limiting access to the windows core files.

ROFL! We have a teenaged neighbor who I think occasionally leached on our wi-fi. I never realized that I could have had fun with him like that! Funny thing is, I got him in trouble by asking his mom about his connection. She doesn't know anything about computers, so when she mentioned on the phone one day that he had to be sitting at the window (the one closest to our house) to use the "fast internet" instead of their dial-up, I casually asked her what network he was on. Linksys. Uhm, yeah, very likely that's us. So the next time we were down, I called and asked her if he was having trouble getting his fast connection. She said yes and asked how I knew, and I said, "Oh, because we are down and I am pretty sure he has been using our connection." She was not happy and told him he had better NEVER steal someone else's service again. I didn't even have to complain about it, just make her aware of it.

I think this would be a pretty funny thing to do to an ill prepared buisness. Just to teach them a lesson about security.

We would block his IP address and then look at him outside, he'd slap the keyboard and have that "omg why is my stolen internet broken" look on his face. Then eventually we just told his parents, and they had no idea what we were talking about... so we just made an analogy to shoplifting and the kid got his laptop taken away |

A friend actually named her wireless (improvise here)
"DenyJohn" - as "john" being her exes name, who is a huge computer geek. Ours is named something like 'Donottouch', haha. |
