I see no need for anything above 10/100 unless you have a lot of network traffic... I mean, how much can you transfer between two PCs to justify buying a gigabit card/router?
My MSI mobo has prebuilt gigabit, but it's worthless... pah, waste of money.... But once people see a USB solution to gigabit networks, they'll flock like sheep to it. |

I have about 13 gig of crap I need to back up when I format.
13 gig is 13312 mb (roughly) 13312 mb will take about 221.86 seconds (3 mins) on a 100 mb router (if conditions are right, heh) If I can't sit and wait for 3 mintues to copy something to another PC, that's just said. No one needs gigabit |

The math says 3 mins, but when I backed up my music and movies to reformat (~20 gigs), it took half an hour. You dependent on windows and no network collisions to happen.

So, instead of listening to a song I can eat a meal
The time differences don't concern me that much... i'm a very patient man (who ironically can't live without broadband) |
