have question about cable internet

hi-- i dont know much about this stuff but i have cable broadband internet services-i work from home on the computer all the time and i have 3computers in my house-two of my kids school on the computer also. i work for 800 flowers which they have there servers that i log on to work and when i work evenings i get kicked off alot and i was told because of so many people on the internet in the evenings it kicks me off there server, and my son can not download anything or play certain games while i am working because is slows my computer so much. i was wondering if this is normal or is there anything i can do about this, i have already called my cable internet provider and they have checked all my conections inside and out and say they are fine. i pay in my opinion alot for this service and i just dont know if i should change services or not. any advise i would really appriciate.
