Default The fastest connection in the world?

Back towards the beginning of the year, I was told that the fastest internet connection in America was 13MB a second. Does anyone know what the fastest in the world is?? My guess would be either Japan because if it has wires, Japan is usually the first one with it, or America's stock market because there is alot of data transferring there all of the time!!

Wow I have no idea, right now we have 10/1 here, my husband at his work, for a business (Charter) account is about 3x our Residental one in speed, but they also pay 2-3k a month for it. I would like to know the answer too!

Yeah, when I was told about the 13mb/s, I don't remember the exact figure but it was somewhere between 5 - 10 thousand a month (kinda makes my 35 dollars a month for internet soundreally cheap!!!).

WHAT?!?!?! 40Gb/s, that's 5GB/s download speed!! It said she could download a full high def DVD in like two seconds!!! I wonder if there is a server that can accommodate her speed!!

That makes 13Mb/s look like dial-up (which makes my 256Kb/s look like crawling speed).

I have always loved Sweden and now I love her even more ,lol.I can't imagine what it would be like to have a 40 Gbps connection. The pages would open even before you can finish thinking. From what Peter Lothberg says, it seems like that kind of connection speed is indeed possible in future. It could mean that the television would virtually become obsolete.

His net connection at work is fiber (3X3 Fiber Optic). Many times I wish I had his net connection here at the house, would get some work done quicker if my mind could keep up with all that. I like visiting his office and playing with the shiny toys too.

I have to strongly agree with Jonsson.

I can't imagine what kind of sites grandma would want to see. Well, his son Peter claimed that fiber optics can have low price and the distance is unlimited. I hope that would be so because normal telephone wires and cables doesn't have that capability of maintaining the speed on a long distance connection.
