and take advantage of the online offers if I am not currently a cable customer, nor do I have cable piped into my location?

Rave if you do not have Comcast cable, you shoould probably still a discount promotion. Without cabkle service I believe it may be as low as 29.99 a month for 6 months, along with the $100 cash back and free modem w/ rebates. Check out this site and enter your address where you would like service and it should list your options. Good luck.
