Do internet-based proxies really work? Has anyone had any expierence with them?

From what I undestand, they work fine. What do you need it for?

There are a couple sites that are blocked at my work that shouldn't be blocked. I wanted to see if this would help me get around that.

I have tried an internet proxy once or twice, and it seemed to work fine. Unfortunately, I don't have any links handy.

Maybe this link would help: Hiding Your IP Address, although its quite long.
Proxies are sometimes good and sometimes bad. Its good if you have slow connection. Bad if you have broadband connection for the speed of your connection will be slower than your normal broadband connection if you use a proxy other than of your ISP proxy. If you have a broadband connection, better go to your ISP provider and change your IP status to static. |
