I don't know much about satellite internet service, but I am curious about it. What equipment do you need to get started? Does it require a dish? Do you need a special kind of modem? Can it be used with a wireless router?

Good questions Dini. I've been checking into cable and dsl service and really haven't given much thought to satellite internet. I'd be curious to hear these answers also. And, some prices would be good information too.

Dini, you'll get a dish and modem from your provider but otherwise you don't need anything special. I went with Skyway and they also need a phone line.
Hubs and wireless are fine too. |

I need to connect to internet by two way satellite equipment, lifetime and proprietary, for my systems and network.
I can buy expensive equipment and accessories or complete DSL system; But, I don't know much about Internet via Satellite. So, please specify equipment and accessories; And advice to me, too. temps10th@gmail.com Thank you. Last edited by temps10th; 05-04-2008 at 04:55 PM. |
