Alright, so i've heard all the bad things people have said about Satellite. HOWEVER, of the Satellite ISP's which is the best one overall? Does anyone have an idea? Thanks in advance.

Turbo,
I can tell you who its not....Wildblue!!!! &*^%$#@bags lol
I am switching to Hughesnet asap.
Hughesnet has a dropdown box on their homepage that compares the 2 of them....I would give it a look if either companies were a viable option for you.

Default WildBlue customer service is awful

What ever you do - don't go with WildBlue. After buying all the equipment up front we had to sign a 2 year contract. Here is a sample of what I'm currently going through with them:

We got signed up with a residential account with WildBlue about 4 months ago. After adding security cameras to the house we needed to switch to a static IP to support remote camera access. That is when the fun began...

1st call: WildBlue customer service. Wait time 18 minutes. Cell phone ran out of battery & had to hang up before I reached anyone.

2nd call: WildBlue customer service. Wait time 48 minutes. Was told I had to contact Direct TV as we got the TV/internet package through them. Said I needed the Enterprise Solution.

3rd call: Direct TV. Wait time 3 minutes. They said they were unable to help me - they just sign people up for WildBlue. They are unable to access any records or advise me which package I need to get a static IP address.

4th call: WildBlue customer service. Wait time 22 minutes. Was told I need to contact NRTC as they are the ones who could put us on the Business packages. They were unable to quote prices or features and unable to switch plans for me. Told me I would need to call WildBlue customer service again after I signed up for the Enterprise Solution so they could stop the residential service.

5th call: I've been on hold with NRTC (a division of WildBlue) for 45 minutes already. Still no one has picked up the phone.

In addition, 1. the installation was done incorrectly and we had to call the installers back to the house to correct problems, 2. the speed is SLOW
3. 'troubleshooting' with this company is also a nightmare - they have a checklist they go down. It's the same checklist no matter what the problem is.

http://skywayusa.com/index.php

This is the best thing going in this arena from price (equipment, monthly fee, repair cost if need be) to reliability (no fighting rainfade up and down) to customer service and tech support (THEY'RE ALL ENGLISH SPEAKING AMERICANS!!!!!).

Check them out, the only drawback I see compared to other sat companies is you do need a phone line if you don't have one, which wasn't a problem for me since I've been on snailup.
