Default What's the lowest price you've seen for Satellite?

Currently i'm using Cable, but it's Comcast unfortunely. So anyway, i'm researching alternative options...Satellite being one of them. What is the best price you've seen for Satellite? I don't care what state you live in, this is only for research purposes at the moment. Any help would be appreciated.

We tried to have a Tivo here for awhile, but that started to suck when it would forget the shows we wanted to watch and make up its own mind of what it thought we should watch.

Then we tried another one, I forget the name of it right now, but that was horrible too. It would freeze up. We found it online (Ebay I think) and it worked okay for a couple of weeks, then it just went stupid, so we gave up for awhile, had no TV, then realized how many shows we missed. We ended up getting a dish network thing, and so far so good - only goes out when it is really storming outside. I think we pay like 80/month maybe? Might be a little high, will check that too.

If you are using cable, I wouldn't recommend satellite. It is not a very good alternative IMO. High latency rates, small FAP buckets, and it seems like the connection goes out a lot.
It is definitely great if it is your only option, like me, but don't go for it unless you have to.

Just my own opinion of course.

I remember what that thing is now! Replay TV.

Maybe when we purchased it from the person online, it was broken or we had a bad receiver (if thats what it is called)? I have never really had too many issues during the time we used it, but it seemed like not all of it was there. Would make funny noises sometimes, or it would lose signal (maybe thats what I'm thinking?). Good thing we switched now, I hate the idea of sitting down to watch a show, then 10 minutes into it the show just disappears.

Thank you for the information everyone, it IS appreciated!

The main reason I had been looking into Satellite(despite the bad things i've heard), is that speeds were supposed to be boosted to levels above cable internet in the near future.

So what were the prices anyway? lol I didn't see any.

I'm really interested in cable prices myself. And if they boost speeds above cable, I'm SO there.
