Phishing email scam?

I recieved this email today which I assume is a scam, but wanted to double check to make sure...

Dear Subscriber,

We write to notify you that we are carrying out some temporary
maintainance on our service due to congestion in all customers email
account. Please be informed that customers will be restricted from
accessing their e-mail account in fews days time. This is to guild
against SPAM and will also enable us to update all e-mail account for
a better services. In regards,you are required to send your account
information to our MAIL CONTROL UNIT for the immediate maintainance and
update.

ALL ACCOUNT INFORMATION SHOULD BE SENT TO:
E-mail:supportaccountupdate@hotmail.com

After following the instructions in the sheet, your email account will not

Account owner that refuses to upgrade his or her account before two
weeks of receiving this warning will loose his or her account
