I don't really understand how the TV, internet, and phone all come in through the same cable line, yet they don't all go down at the same time. I would think if I can't watch TV, the phone and internet shouldn't work either. But I don't think we've ever had everything down at once. That just seems weird to me. Can anyone explain how that works?

Each one travels on a different frequency (how it works), so sometimes only certain ranges are affected, as far as I know.
I may be completely wrong though. |

Oh, that makes sense. Not that I was complaining that they all didn't go out at the same time. How boring would that be? I should be grateful that I still have the ability to watch TV (for what it's worth) when the internet goes down. Thanks for the explanation.

If you have a cable tv and cable internet, and only one goes down, there's a problem on their end. If both goes down, there's a probably with the cable.
Just remember, whenever you have an outage, call your provider to see if they know about it. |
