Default How satisfied are you with Verizon?

We have all heard lot's of bad things said about Comcast on the Cable side of things, but how happy are you all with Verizon's service?

Personally, I have heard very little bad about them. Prices are pretty good, and the speed is pretty stable. Should you disagree, tell me how and why.

Default Verizon DSL blues

Everything was great until mid December I went from always between 2.5 to 2.8 Meg down to 700k - 1.2M. Unless of course it's in the middle of the night then speeds seem to return. Called tech support 3 times, 2 time I called said ran test I was getting 3.3Meg down and 800+k up. Sounds great but that's seems to be the speed between my house and verizon office. The problems seem to be some where on verizon-gni, alter or quest networks. The last tech said I needed a new modem, I was fairly certain it wouldn't work but for $30.00 I bought it anyway. Didn't help. So I called to cancel and now they want to send Geek Squad out free of charge. I might do it so they can prove to me verizon isn't buying enough bandwidth or they are previsioning to much... I have the 3Meg down 768k up for approx. 2 years and not very happy any more. Either way if it doesn't improve I'll be switching to cable and VOIP, so they'll loose DSL, Local and Long distance from me.

You are not reading the other Verizon DSL forum. Yes, some people do get good service if they are lucky. But some people dont, like me. The problem i got is that the speed is normal on the morning and it is extremely in the evening, i mean like 60/30 speed after like 6pm, but it is worse today.. like 70/40 already. laugh at you saying pretty stable.

I think the speed that you are getting has a lot to do with your location. I've had Verizon here for 2 months now and doesn't matter what time of day the speed stays the same. My X had it and shes 25 miles from me and her service was terrible. She went to Comcast and now gets 16 meg down. LOL.
My sons house is 200 feet away from hers and hes getting 5 Meg on Comcast and hes mad about that.
