Default Verizon DSL, My experience so far

First I want to explain that I was a Cable IP subscriber for over 5 years (comcast). The prices kept increasing to the point that I could not stand it. The connection speeds plumeted, the CS reps were fair at best and the Techs that showed up to do work we a mixed bag of experienced or indifferent.
I switched to Verizon (So Jersey) this summer '06 and after getting new wires routed for the DSL modem, set up was swift and painless.
(Here comes the good stuff)
I recently added 2 wireless enabled devices to my home network which was partially hardwired with Cat 5e. Since I'm basically a little lazy, I decided to change over to a wireless router to avoid the wire install hassals.
After spending 18 Hours attempting to configure A D-Link DI-524 and a Netgear 614 "g" routers, I finnally got a Verizon tech on the phone to admit (not on tape), that Linksys and Belkin are the only "compatable" router brands that work with the Westell 6100 DSL Modem.

So, Anyone reading this please be aware of this little tidbit before rushing out to your local Electronics store to buy that wireless Kit that's on sale. BE cogniscent of the devices compatability before purchase or you might be disappointed with the end results.
