Default Verizon's FTTH

I was reading about Verizon's FTTH/FTTP (fiber to the home/premises) connection. This sounds like a futuristic technology that's going to expand it's network over the months.Does anyone avail their FTTH connection here ? Is it more expensive than DSL ?

Anyone know if there's any kind of schedule for expansion to be found? I'd really like a timeline for Washington state.

I read a bit about their FiOS and broadband passive optical network. In a recent article I read, they didn't exactly outline their expansion plans ,but expounded on how they, with technology of Alcatel-Lucent , plan to better their already high-speed connection .You can read about it here : Verizon FiOS The states where they have already deployed their network are listed, I believe , in the 12th paragraph.
