Yea, we're all basically screwed. The government can label anything as protection for terrorism and Congress follows like a lap dog.

I think they should have to have a really good reason for a phone tap, but I think that ability should be there. I don't think taxpayers would object (whether they use VoIP or not) as long as it was for a good reason.

It probably doesn't matter whether you have VoIP or a landline, if they have reason to monitor your phone line, they will. On the one hand, I couldn't care less, because I have nothing to hide, but on the other hand, the less government interference in my life, the better, IMHO.

I seem not to agree with the government's plan for it is my right of privacy. And if they will tap to my calls then it is a breech on my privacy. Well I guess I can do nothing even if I don't want to because the government can do it anytime even thought its not yet legal.
